The Circutor RX-5-400 is a three-phase reactor detuned filter for capacitor banks. It protects power factor correction equipment in installations with a high harmonic content.

Overview

CIRCUTOR offers a standard range of rejection reactors with p = 7 %. This gives a resonance frequency of 189 Hz for 50 Hz networks. For 60 Hz networks, a 227 Hz version is available on demand. This is the most common tuning value, because it avoids any resonance of the 5th harmonic and above. In addition, the capacitor-reactor set absorbs part of the 5th harmonic current. It also acts as a rejection filter for higher frequencies.

Other Tuning Values

Some installations need other p % values. For example, CIRCUTOR lists these options:

• 5.6 % tuning, with a resonance frequency of 210 Hz
• 6 % tuning, with a resonance frequency of 204 Hz

Construction

• Input and output connections on RB units run through a plate.
