Overview

The Dongjin DJ12V-18Ah Dry Battery is a compact 12V sealed lead-acid battery rated at 18Ah. It belongs to Dongjin’s DJ12V VRLA/AGM range and sits between the 12Ah and 26Ah models. Because it is a sealed, maintenance-free dry battery, you never need to top it up with water.

VRLA stands for valve-regulated lead-acid. In an AGM battery, glass mat separators hold the electrolyte, so the battery does not spill and can work in different positions. As a result, it suits compact equipment where a flooded battery would be messy or unsafe.

Typical Uses

This battery suits many backup and standby jobs around the home, shop and office. For example, it works well in UPS units, alarm and security systems, emergency lights and small solar lights. It also fits applications where you need a step up from the 12Ah model but do not need the size of the 26Ah model.

Charging and Storage Tips

Always use a charger made for sealed lead-acid batteries, because the wrong charger can shorten battery life. Avoid deep discharges whenever possible, and recharge the battery soon after use. If you store it for a long time, charge it fully first and keep it in a cool, dry place. In addition, recharge it from time to time during storage, since all lead-acid batteries slowly lose charge. Finally, keep the terminals clean and tight so the battery delivers steady power.
