Overview:

The SolarMax SM-ORION-ULTRA-11KW Hybrid Solar Inverter is the higher-output model in the ORION ULTRA range, delivering 11,000VA/11,000W of rated power with a substantial 22,000VA surge rating — enough to start heavy motor loads or run a workshop’s worth of power tools simultaneously. It accepts up to 12,000W of PV array power (two 6,000W MPP trackers) across a 90–450VDC operating range, with a 500VDC maximum array open-circuit voltage.

Two independent AC power sources — grid/generator plus solar/battery — are switched automatically, and dual AC outputs (main and smart load) allow genuine load prioritization: critical circuits stay powered through a heavy load or generator connection while less essential circuits route through the normal/smart load output. The unit runs on a 48VDC battery platform with a 54VDC floating charge voltage and 63VDC overcharge protection point, and supports up to 6 units in parallel across single or three-phase configurations.

Build quality matches the rest of the ORION ULTRA family: IP66-rated enclosure, -10–50°C operating range (-15–60°C storage), a comprehensive protection suite including SPD DC/AC Type2, anti-islanding, insulation detection and GFCI, and communication over built-in USB/RS232/RS485/WiFi/Dry-contact with optional GFCI, rapid shutdown and AFCI detection support.
