Overview

The CoreTech NexGen 6kW PV12000 Hybrid Solar Inverter (model CT NexGEN Hybrid-SP PV12000) is a single-phase transformerless hybrid inverter. It also shares the NexGen platform with the 8kW and 10kW models in the range. It offers a 6kW rated output (6.6kVA maximum apparent power), while it accepts up to 12,000W (12kW) of PV access power and 9kW of usable PV input.

Like the rest of the range, it has dual MPPT solar charging with a 90–450V range, 550V maximum input and 60V start-up voltage. It also offers pure sine wave output and UPS-level switching in under 4ms. For storage, the inverter uses a 48V smart battery system with CAN/RS485 BMS communication for lead-acid or lithium banks.

Output and Efficiency

Battery charge and discharge current runs up to 135A. The AC output holds 220V/230V (L/N/PE) across a 160–300V range, with 26.1A rated and 28.7A maximum current. In addition, the power factor stays above 0.99 and THDi stays under 3%. Maximum efficiency reaches 97.7%, while MPPT efficiency is 99.8% and EU efficiency is 96.7%. Charge and discharge efficiency for the battery is 95.3% and 93.9%.

Protection and Build

The full NexGen protection suite carries over to this model. It includes a DC switch, reverse polarity protection, insulation monitoring, leakage current detection, ground fault and short circuit protection. On top of that, it covers anti-islanding, Type II DC/AC surge protection, optional AFCI and I-V curve scanning. For larger systems, you can run up to 16 units in parallel.

The IP66-rated enclosure uses smart cooling, so it supports -40°C to +60°C operation. It works up to 4,000m altitude, although derating starts above 3,000m. Connectivity covers WiFi, Bluetooth, optional GPRS/LAN and RS485/CAN, as well as app monitoring. Finally, CoreTech backs the unit with a 10-year warranty.
